Living Psalm 1–Easter 7B
Happy are those who disrupt white supremacy,
Or resist capitalistic thinking,
And the thought that one way of knowing is the Only Acceptable Way.
But their delight is beside the God of Abundant Love,
And, the world of Justice, becoming, they conjure day and night.
They are like trees, rooted in exactly the right place,
Growing around the rocks and hard places,
Seasonally changing, fruiting, stretching, adapting,
In all that they do, they learn and grow.
The willfully wicked are not so,
But are like mosquitos to the call of money, greed, power, capitalism,
Buzzing in dissonance with compassionate care.
Therefore, those who cling to power will not thrive,
Nor, those who isolate in towers of money,
For God aligns with the places and people where the hurt is deepest,
And all these unjust systems will fall in service to liberation.
