FAITH IN ACTION
On the last weekend in September, eight (8) rural congregations donned bright orange shirts for the sixteenth annual Faith in Action weekend of service. Members in each church formed teams and spent the weekend completing service projects throughout Southwestern St. Charles and Southeastern Warren Counties. This annual program began in 2007 as an off shoot of mission trips to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

Participating in the Festival of Sharing, assembly teams provided 61 meals for the homebound, and packed over 100 food boxes and hygiene kits. Each year projects are evaluated.
This year we became aware of the need from Church World Services for menstrual hygiene kits. Women all over the world are impacted by the unavailability of these items. In the United States, these menstrual hygiene items are not covered by government assistance programs. Realizing this need, we added this project to our Faith in Action list and 58 kits were completed and will be sent to Church World Services.
We were happy to help women and girls around the world living in period poverty. It is our hope that the kits we provided will make a difference.
